Journey to Clockwork Event Management

My journey began at the beginning of 2019 when, following organisational restructure, my role was made redundant.  I had worked at EDF Energy for 10 years, first as an executive assistant then in the communications team as Meetings & Events Coordinator. I wanted my next role to be equally as fulfilling, one that used my experience as a meeting and events planner.

I have behind me 30 years in retail and corporate sectors where I’ve worked on the sales floor and in the boardroom.  I’ve experienced a wide range of events from fashion shows and product launches; corporate hospitality and industry conferences; team building activities and fundraising events.  I’ve planned and overseen events at a variety of locations; a dinner for industry leaders at Tower Bridge, a retirement party held in the Kensington Palace Orangery, conferences at the QEII Conference Centre, Manchester United and Williams F1.  Closer to home I’ve worked with Cheltenham Racecourse, Gloucester Rugby, National Star and several venues across Gloucestershire.  I’ve kept track of anything from 12 to 600 delegates without ever losing anyone!

I love event planning, although it isn’t nearly as glamorous as the above list might sound!  I’ll easily clock up 20,000 steps on event day and would often be found carrying boxes, setting up banners and reviewing slide decks; often simultaneously and all with a smile on face.

Making the step away from the corporate environment has given me the opportunity to become my own boss.  I’ve been told that I take the stress out of the event planning process and that with my organisational skills, events run like CLOCKWORK!  So that has become the name of my business and now I’m eager to share my experience with you by working together to shape your next event.

I look forward to the next steps on my journey!
